Question concerning Ville's Beanie

Greetings o earthlings!

I've been trying to answer that question by myself for so long but I can't solve it.

So here my question: where on earth can I buy one of those magnificent and absolutely stunning looking beanies Ville is wearing all the time (e.g. the one in the picture).

I've been on a HIM concert and everyone was wearing that beanie except of me :-)
I was looking for it in my hometown, on ebay, in the internet - everywhere.

So please, if anyone can give me a hint, I will be very grateful :D

The heartagram store has one, but it's a bit different.

topshop.com used to have them in black and also in purple. I think it was $16.95 or something. I find beanies all over the place. ebay usually has some. And I don't know where else to recommend because I don't know if you are in Europe or the US.
himlivehimlive on March 19th, 2010 02:50 am (UTC)
I'm from Europe.

What are your search items on ebay?

Thanks for the answers so far!

Well, topshop.com is based in London, so that's a good idea. I would check their website.
As far as ebay goes, I just used to search for beanies. And when I wanted black, I would search for that specifically. If I wanted purple, I would search for purple ones.

See the website where you grabbed the pic of the beanie? Yeah, go there. :P
himlivehimlive on March 19th, 2010 02:56 am (UTC)
Uhhh I couldn't find anything over there...
Dingerzdingerz on March 19th, 2010 03:17 am (UTC)
Oh, so they just like to host pics of beanies for fun? Alright, alright, I'm just being silly. Beanies you can buy everywhere. I have like 456 of them myself, mostly overpriced $40 ones I bought at concerts by my favourite bands. (but hey, I got to help them pay their mortgages and buy old antiques, right? And that's all that counts..) I digress. I mean do you want a HIM beanie, a stylish beanie or one that looks juuust like Ville's? See your answer dictates my answer you see.
himlivehimlive on March 19th, 2010 03:44 am (UTC)
Well, exactly as I said before: I'm looking for a beanie like Ville's.
No fan stuff or something...

And yeah, where I found the picture, I didn't find any link or description for further information. Hard to imagine huh?
myemptyshellmysteriousgrrrl on March 19th, 2010 05:49 am (UTC)
LOL I never understand when people copy Ville....is just a hat!!! People copy his hair, hats, clothes, tattoos.....jeez.
imforyou616imforyou616 on March 19th, 2010 08:44 am (UTC)
The same reason people copy celebrity styles. It' a good style, and no-one is unique in this world. Some people do take it a little far, but there is nothing wrong with using some Valo Style.

But then again I would say this, I bought a purple beanie, haha.
himlivehimlive on March 19th, 2010 10:20 am (UTC)
I think you are a little fast in convicting...

It's just a beanie so cool down and don't die worrying about Ville...

You (as a fan I suggest) should know, that only ONE hat doesn't copies a complex person like Ville :D Don't you?

But anyway, thank you for your answers everyone!
Now I know where I have to look for it!

PS: I already knitted a head but it wasn't like I wanted it.
But I think the right search key for the internet is "Long Slouch Beanie".
himlivehimlive on March 19th, 2010 10:45 am (UTC)
Beanie I mean!
Ashleighashleigh_713 on March 19th, 2010 06:04 am (UTC)
They aren't "like V's" but if you go on etsy.com, you can find some great knitted hats and make your own look, instead of copying his. I've got about five in slightly different styles, in purple, red, black and green. Check under Handmade and the seller YesJess is who I get them from. Got a great, open weave, for summer, sailor type beanie in blues.

I know exactly how V means about wearing the hats so much. Simplifies life, you don't wash your hair as often so it's in better condition when you don't want to hide it.

PS Walmart has $1.00 beanies in grey, black and navy some of the time. Nothing fancy but they stretch out nicely and if your dog eats it or you lay something hot on it and melt it, you don't care as much.

I really wish I could get one too but I haven't seen any in my hometown :(
nailedtoacross on March 19th, 2010 09:13 am (UTC)
I have one and I look like a smurf :D BUt I don't wear it at gigs because it's too hot.
I've bought it several years ago, before the beanie fashion explosion...
Pauladeathpunkscum on March 19th, 2010 10:23 am (UTC)
Sorry, I don't have a shop for you, but I suggest you buy some knitting needles and a roll of that same colour yarn (that in the picture looks like cotton or wool&cotton mixture), and make it yourself; it's very easy :) Fun even, and it doesn't take that much time. And it costs like 7€ max!
november86november86 on March 19th, 2010 11:12 am (UTC)
I have thank god found a beanie like that...for only 5 euro... it was meant to be for men...but what the hell...LOL

It sucks sometimes that hey do big oversized beanies for men.

I didn't bought it cos of Ville.... really, Holland is a bit rainy country and it helps my hair to stay dry LOL

So I hope you can find one.... how about H&M???

rogafurogafu on March 19th, 2010 12:53 pm (UTC)
I got mine from ZARA, though the wood is a bit thicker, it cost 5.95 €, and I've also seen them, on the man's section of H&M.
Nefertarinefernefertari on March 19th, 2010 06:27 pm (UTC)
"though the wood is a bit thicker"...LOLS, my mind jumps into the gutter..
rogafurogafu on March 19th, 2010 11:54 pm (UTC)
I meant "wool"...but I feel happy if that 's made you laugh...laughing is a need nowadays...indeed
purplexparadisepurplexparadise on March 19th, 2010 03:13 pm (UTC)
Mine is from topshop and looking just like Ville's purple one he wore a lot in the Venus Doom years im sure u know which one im talking about. You should order it! It's a very nice light beanie. But not a winter one, it gets cold anyway
Dingerzdingerz on March 19th, 2010 05:04 pm (UTC)
Here you go, some black beanies much like Ville's

In fact, use this search engine by typing in lots of beanie descriptions. Try using brand names of similar hats you like:

Ive gotten both of mine at H&M but Im from Canada so I don't think that would help. I know H&M is in Europe but I don't know if they have the same stuff and I got mine a long time ago. My mom has made me a bunch as well cause I wear my other two so much. I also know that a lot of places that sell snowboards and stuff sell them as well
SGNLm_m_m_minute on March 19th, 2010 06:17 pm (UTC)
I think it's also about you personally, your hair, your head, how it all fits into the beanie. I found a good one in Value Village (a secondhand place in Canada) that just happens to be just right for me. So I'd say go to a mall or something, try on different beanies of different sizes, material, etc, and see which falls just right on your head in that style. ;D

If you do a Google search for 'slouch beanie' or 'slouchy beanie' you get a ton of results. And some are really cheap too.
Sarahtherestiance on March 19th, 2010 10:46 pm (UTC)
